Alert Issued For Freeport Man Missing Since Hospital Discharge

Police are looking for a Freeport man who has gone missing after being discharged from Nassau County Medical Center.

It was reported to Nassau County Police on Wednesday, July 17 that Anthony Schlechter, 70, who suffers from a cognitive disorder, was missing, according to police.

He was last seen Monday, July 15 after being discharged from the medical center in East Meadow, according to police.

Schlechter is described as being 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes.

Detectives request anyone with information about Schlechter to contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7374 or call 911.
